SBIA Announces 2026-2027 Leadership

October 12, 2026 (Washington, D.C.) – The Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA), the association representing small business investors in the lower middle market, announces its 2026-2027 Board of Governors. The Board includes the association’s officers, industry and regional council chairs, and at-large members.

Stacy Harmsen, a Founding Partner of Minneapolis-based NorthCoast Mezzanine, is the incoming Chair. She leads mezzanine origination, structuring, underwriting, deal execution and portfolio management at NorthCoast and serves on the firm’s investment committee. Stacy holds a Bachelor of Arts with high honors in Business, with a concentration in Finance, from the University of St. Thomas. She has served SBIA as Chair of the Midwest Regional Council and as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chair-Elect.

“Stacy has served in every officer role on her way to the chair, and she knows our members and the issues in front of them as well as anyone,” said SBIA President Brett Palmer. “I want to thank Tyson Smith for his leadership this past year and welcome our new Board members. This Board brings together fund managers, banks, institutional LPs and venture investors from across the country, and their guidance will shape how SBIA serves small business investors in the year ahead.”

SBIA also thanks three outgoing Board members for their service: Jan Bergeson of Ally Bank, Sarah Busch of Argosy Capital and Brian Model of Topmark Partners.
